Kabbalah of Love 1: What is Love?
Rabbi Aaron introduces the Kabbalah of Love series with an overview of all of the topics that will covered: how love unites in oneness, creating space for another, practical relationship advice, and acceptance and forgiveness.
Kabbalah of Love 2: Oneness
One of the purposes of the creation is to reveal Divine Oneness. So, how do we do that through relationship? Rabbi Aaron touches on the two main Names of G-d, and the Shema to explain the paradoxical nature of simultaneous oneness and multiplicity.
In this class Rabbi Aaron gives us the four key ingredients in the dynamic of love, and expands upon the first one (which we originally saw in the first class), creating space for another. He also explains practically how we often do not give our loved ones that space.
Now, Rabbi Aaron gets into the nitty gritty details of how to make space for the different aspects of your loved one, and how to love, respect, and learn from their uniqueness. But how do I make space for them when they are not fulfilling the dreams and expectations that I project on them?
After a review of the previous classes, Rabbi Aaron then wraps up the series with a discussion on the balance between giving and respecting boundaries, and with the importance of accepting ourselves as the prerequisite to accepting our love one.
